Our brand new football school has been launched today, Saturday 16th June, at its temporary home until July 7th, Carnarvon Primary School.
9:45-10am saw the arrival of 23 4 to 7 year old youngsters all raring to go on their footballing careers! The three Aspire coaches from Nottingham Forest Development Centre, Carlton soon had the players warming up and enjoying three varied exercises at three different stations which were each visited by the players on a rotation.
Martin Bell, head of Aspire Coaching commented, 'The whole ethos of the Aspire team is to deliver foundation phase football in a fun, no pressure environment designed to ease children into playing football. Ball control is one of the basic foundation stones on which the coaching is built which, if you get it right in the early years, will equip the players well for their future fotballing experience.'
Rob Harwood, Chairman of Bingham was there to see the launch of this new project. 'It is heartwarming to see how engaged all of the children were virtually straight away. The Aspire team impressed with their presentation when making the bid to provide the coaching for the project and they certainly seem to have delivered this morning judging by the happy, smiling faces in the 'team' photo!' Rob added, 'we've had 23 today and are happy to accept anyone and everyone who wants to come down. There is no limit as Martin will just bring along more coaches from his team.'
Bingham Rangers will run for the next three weeks at Carnarvon Primary School and then will have a break until September when the new school term and football season starts. It is open to both boys and girls from 4 to 7 years and costs £5 per session payable on the day.
