Bingham Rangers say 'Thank You' to Bingham Co-op for £3794.98 cheque!

By Robert Harwood

All smiles at Butt Field on Saturday morning

Saturday morning, 24th November, saw store manager of Bingham Co-Op, Ian Brumfitt and his colleague Dan come down to Butt Field to present the Bingham Town FC with a cheque for £3794.98. Jeff Woolley, BTFC Club Secretary received the cheque on behalf of the club along with 30 or so of our Bingham Rangers players and our lead coach, Martin Bell.

WHERE DID THIS MONEY COME FROM?
Last year Bingham Rangers applied to Bingham Co-op to be one of their three chosen charity projects of the year for 2017/2018. Our aim was to raise funds for the creation of Bingham Rangers - our permanent football school for 4 to 7 year olds - and to fund the future training of some of our new parents to become FA Level 1 qualified coaches. We were accepted and over the year, every time you have spent a pound in the Co-Op in Bingham, a penny or two was set aside and put into our community fund. Over the year the pennies all added up to an amazing £3794.98.

Not only did Ian and Dan bring us a cheque, they also surprised everyone with cakes and mince pies - which I understand were not just enjoyed by the players but Mums and Dads as well! What a really nice treat which, not surprisingly, went down very well in more ways than one!

On behalf of the club, I would like to say a massive 'thank you' to Ian and his colleagues at the Co-Op and, just as importantly, all of you who have visited the Co-Op over the last year and 'spent a pound!' This Co-Op scheme embodies everything our club is about - if every member gives a little (in the club's instance 'time') it results in huge benefit for the club and, most importantly, the players who are the reason we all do it.
