Semi Final - Beckons for Bingham.
Bingham 4 - Mansfield 2
Brilliant Bingham have reached their first ever Cup Semi final thanks to a tremendous team effort at fortress Butt Field today.
Bingham who have also achieved promotion to Division One this term are absolutely flying and team cooperation and support are the secret to Bingham's success.
Today's guests were probably Bingham's best football friends, Mansfield Town are the most sporting of Clubs with a great manager great parents and wonderful players.
To have a game where every single player on both sides plays with a smile on their faces is what it's all about in junior football.
After a really close first half where both teams had chances and both keepers were excellent - it was Bingham who got their noses in front with Ellie-Mae Harper once again netting twice before the break.
Mansfield came back and scored a great goal from a break away, and could have taken the lead had they not have hit the foot of the post twice - good job coach Alan Gupwell moved the post by 10mm in the warm up!
Mansfields keeper was just like David de Gea saving everything from every angle.
At the back Lucy McKenzie, Scarlett Crossland, Grace Kelly and Jenavive Traynor needed to be at their best to stop a lively and quick Mansfield attack, with girl of the match Nancy Millar playing both sweeper and in midfield.
Bingham passed back to keeper and match Captain Sophie McInnes several times and Sophie coped well, keeping posession.
In midfield it was lots of running and lots of creating for squad Captain Natasha Gupwell, and midfield dynamo Bella Davies.
Up front parents Player Ellie-Mae grabbed four goals and was first to thank Chloe Sheldon and Grace Brooks for creating chances for her.
Mansfield did grab a deserved second for their hard work a looping shot just looping in under the bar.
So in summary a fantastic cup tie played in the most sporting of ways - superbly referred by Charlotte Lacey.
