A welcome point but to many missed chances

Bingham for first time in few weeks could put out a strong squad even without skipper Chris Dawn and Oli Turton .Tom Green was preferred in goal and stand in skipper Ricard Clarke was back he stood in for the missing Turton at heart defence ,Matt sentence in at left back for Chris Dawn.Sean Langford back in up front.
2min in Bradshaw was put through but fail to test the keeper. In 7th min Bingham fell behind, as in last few weeks it was their own doing when weak goal kick was returned and the Nottinghamshire forward rounding Green in the Bingham goal. This seem to make the home side nervous and it wasn't until the 25th min when a Bingham corner was cleared to the excellent Tom Hardy his cross found Adam Bowering to head into the top corner for 1-1.The home side had another two chances to take the lead before Half time but fail to make them count.
Bingham gained confidence and dominated the 2nd half but conceded a penalty on 55min Tom Green made a fine double save and then Tom Hardy made a fantastic goal line clearance to keep it 1-1.
Bingham made two substitutions and welcomed back top scorer Steve Perry up front and Mark (shakey) Shakespare. But they fell behind on 65th min when the Nottinghamshire winger broke down the left the linesman flag was ignored and the winger set up easy chance for the forward to make it 2-1 .This seemed to only make the Bingham players more determined to get back in the game, but were guilty of not taking their chances .It was constant Bingham pressure and with just 10 min to go they were rewarded with a penalty for handball from another excellent Tom Hardy delivery. Steve Perry slotting home the spot kick to make 2-2. Bingham was camped in the vistors half and again the home side was guilty of missing some good opportunities to take the victory and in the end had to settle for share of the pionts.

Manager Andy Shipstone said you could see after 3 straights league defeats that when we conceded the first goal it took some time for us to get back on track, but we did and then played the kind of football we capable of, but we must learn to take our chances, we being punished for our mistakes but work hard for our goals. With a bit more consentration at both ends we should have easily won this but was happy the way we went about it. We beating the teams below us and if we keep on learning we will beat the teams above and get a respectable finish in this league ,but we know we got to all work toghter. it was shown today with a stronger squad that the perfomances was much better because we are starting to get good competiton for places in the team and that can only be good for us.
next week we away in the league to Kimberley MW RES.
