New season underway

Decent win (with caveats)
Ok, a short match report for this one. Our friends at Dunkirk were hamstrung by a DofE weekend taking three of their players away, so they were short of a full team. We had a full team and sub despite some last minute withdrawals. After considering the options (such as lending them players for a friendly instead) we opted to start with reduced numbers, though we still had numerical advantage. After a pretty even opening 15 minutes we had to stop for a quick drinks break / administering of asthma medication! Our girls were instructed to shoot earlier rather than try to walk the ball in a la Wenger, and also to remember we would in theory always have a spare player available for a pass. After this the girls dominated and a goal for Lauren and a hat-trick for Anna G saw the latter quickly subbed for a rest . Half Time: Dunkirk 0 - 4 BTFC.
We removed another player for the second half. Bingham continued to control the midfield even though we had shuffled the pack a bit with attackers at the back and defenders pushed forward. Izzy scored (and was then subbed). Lauren scored (and was then subbed). It looked like we were all done when Emily popped up with a smart strike from 12 yards for her first ever goal. That was the end of the scoring and some very tired girls came off after 80 minutes on a warm morning. Full Time: Dunkirk 0 - 7 BTFC.
It was a useful exercise in that all of our girls got a good hour into their legs and had to cover a lot of ground due to the low numbers on a full sized pitch. Dunkirk battled very hard and although they didn't offer too much in attack this was as much to do with our good defending as it was to do with their lack of numbers. We know we will be in for a tough game in the return when they're at full strength. The Bingham players showed good adaptability when they were all moved around at half time. We're not hugely comfortable with such a large winning margin but had we not made the changes we did it could easily have been three times the score, which would have been no use to anyone.
Bingham PotM was Anna G for her three goals and solid defending.
